WILLIAMSBURG — Donald Wesley Griffiths, 94, passed absent Friday, July 9, 2021.

He proudly served his nation in the U.S. Coastline Guard from 1944 to 1946. Donald graduated from Penn Condition University in 1950, where he been given his B.S. Degree in Horticulture.

He turned a professor emeritus at State College of New York at Farmingdale. Donald taught decorative horticulture, landscape design and style, was a registered landscape architect, a landscaping expert, volunteered extensively at flower displays and with golfing study course superintendents, nurserymen and contractors. When residing in Florida, he also volunteered as director of AARP 55 Alive.

After retirement, he savored golfing and overseas travel with his spouse.

He was preceded in demise by his mother and father, Frances Gleason and Donald Griffiths Sr.

Donald is survived by his spouse of 75 several years, Grace Detwiler Griffiths daughters, Marsha Griffiths of Salem, Ore., and Pamela Costanzo (Pete) of Chincoteague and six grandchildren and 8 good-grandchildren.
