Lafayette gentleman arrested for St. Landry Parish residence advancement fraud

A Lafayette gentleman was arrested Friday in connection with a residence advancement fraud circumstance out of St. Landry Parish.

The Sheriff’s Business office claims that 48-yr-aged Albert George Johnson was arrested adhering to an investigation that started in February 2020.

According to Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz, Detectives were being notified on February 23, 2020 to a residential contractor fraud incident.

Upon more investigation, it was established that the sufferer allegedly entered into a contractual settlement with Johnson, who is recognized as the owner of Alliance Covenant Painting, LLC.

The victim advised deputies that Johnson had allegedly agreed to transform the victim’s residence and been given an initial payment on September 21, 2019. The remodel started the following day. Deputies say Johnson continued to receive payment for labor and material from the sufferer but only sporadically labored at the victim’s home.

Johnson very last worked at the residence on December 20, 2019 and did not finish the transform.

The overall amount the sufferer compensated to Johnson was $14,200, which bundled material and labor for the reworking venture.

Deputies say each the victim and detectives designed several attempts to speak to Albert Johnson in regards to the rework, but were being unsuccessful.

On August 27, 2021, Johnson was booked at the St. Landry Parish Jail and charged with house improvement fraud.

His bond was established at $3,500.
